The 1969 ZL1 Camaros were engineered and built by Dick Harrell. Fred Gibb was Dick Harrell's Chevrolet sponsor for the 1969 and 1970 racing season. Dick needed Fred Gibb to floor 60, 1969 ZL-1s in order to create an AHRA SuperStock class.

Cousins, Larry and Jim Leatherman purchased #15, of the 1969 ZL1 Camaros. This car is still in existence & currently being restored to original form.

This decal sheet is designed to be used on the Revell 1969 Yenko Camaro. 

Optional and included is Harrell's sponsor, Fred Gibb Chevrolet dealership logo, which can be used in place of Larry Leatherman design shield logo.

2002 Dick Harrell Camaro Catalog Cover Tribute Poster First of all, I would like to start this announcement off with a BIG “THANK YOU” to all that have signed up to show great support to the Dick Harrell forum. If only we could document the entire sport in this fashion, this site contains information that is a priceless tribute to Dick Harrell, and drag racing history. Keep the posts coming and continue to spread the word about our site to your friends and family. We, in the Harrell family, are extremely excited to announce the official release of the Dick Harrell Edition Supercar, a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. The "Dick Harrell Edition Camaro" will be sold exclusively through Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids, MI. & built by 1. GMMG, Inc., in Marietta, GA (the original builder of the 2002 Camaro ZL-1 Supercars and many other Dealer built Muscle cars). This exciting project brought together a team of individuals not seen since my Dad's days of racing with Chevrolet and the Chevy dealers he worked so closely with. We are working to recreate, in a production street version, their 2002 2. Woodward Dream Cruise Camaro. Chevrolets one off Supercar. This incredible Camaro houses the new GM Racing Corvette derived C5R 427cu.in. all aluminum race engine, pushing approximately 580HP to the flywheel. Our new Dick Harrell Edition Camaro will feature these very unique body panels that Chevrolet created for their Camaro and the C5R race motor will be available through GMMG, Inc. with approximately 630 HP and will run on pump gas. We have been working with Scott Settlemire, John Heinricy, Randy Wittine, Kip Wasenko, Matt Berger, and Matt Murphy very closely over the past six months to get this project to this point of releasing it to you, our website members and enthusiasts. Later you will see photos of the prototype car at a GM Design studio in its clay stages, like all GM prototype vehicles go through. We are very excited to finally be able to release this information here first, and look forward to showing you more photos as they become available throughout the production of these Camaros. An official unveiling date is in the works and we are also looking at possibly delivering some of these 30 cars in Kansas City later this summer. Stay tuned for more exciting stuff. "Harrell's Grand Stand! " Limited-Edition Print of 500 (13x19) signed and numbered by the Artist, David Carl Peters. "In what has to be one of the "Most Famous" wheelstands in Drag Racing history, is Dick Harrell's bumper-standing, rear-wheel pirouetting 67 Camaro. When I was a kid growing up in the sixties, you could hardly find a Hot Rodding magazine that didn't feature the image of Dick's Camaro on it's rear wheel. This wheel standing incident was noticeable enough at the time, that "American Rodding" magazine did a feature story on it( where Dick explains the whole deal). The story was written by George Engel (the article is included with the print), and it was one of his images, that I chose to paint to commemorate this bit of Drag Racing history. This is an image of the car just before the rear wheels came off the ground. The car then came down on it's left rear wheel, and was about to tip over on it's side completely, when Dick stabbed the throttle. This allowed the car to come back down on it's left two wheels, then crash back down on all fours. This instantly collapsed the front-end, which caused the fuel tank to rupture causing a small fire. You can see the hood buckling from the air pressure under the car, which probably released enough of that pressure to keep the car from quickly blowing over backwards. I love the part of the story where Dick explains how much it cost to build a new front end, repair the fiberglass body, repaint and re letter the car. That was a whopping $1,200 dollars.

Dick Harrell, known as "Mr Chevrolet" was a drag race pioneer in the 60s and 70s and went on to order Camaros, Chevelles and Novas through Chevrolets COPO program and build them into high-performance racing machines. This beautiful emblem was put on these cars in various locations depending on the build. Features red, white and blue colors with chrome accents and the correct grain texture as original. This die-cast zinc emblem measures 4" x 1-1/2" and attaches with two pins on the reverse side that measure 2-1/2" apart. Includes installation hardware.
